Dr. Rany Cherian
About the Doctor
In 1972, Dr. Rany Cherian graduated from Trivandrum Medical College in Kerala, India, and has since served as a dedicated physician in three countries: India, England, and the United States.
Since 1984, Dr. Rany has practiced family medicine in the Brazos Valley and has served the B/CS community in various ways, including at the MHMR Authority of Brazos Valley, the Brazos County Jail, as a volunteer at Health For All, and here at Texas Avenue Medical Clinic.
Dr. Cherian is passionate about providing evidence-based care for patients struggling with substance addiction. Having served for decades in the correctional setting, she realizes the important role that mental health (coupled with medication therapy) serves in life-changing rehabilitation. She is also particularly interested in addressing chronic diseases, including diabetes and hypertension, for individuals in the B/CS community. She deeply values the impact of exercise, diet, and mental wellness in the journey to realize better health.
A resident of College Station, Dr. Cherian has a son and daughter-in-law in Austin who are parents of her two beautiful grandchildren. In her free time, Dr. Cherian enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
